Swim At Germonds Park In West Nyack Raises Money For Hospice

WEST NYACK, N.Y. – United Hospice of Rockland is seeking individuals to raise money to support the fight against cancer in the Swim for Hospice on Sunday from 7-9:30 a.m. at Germonds Park Pool in Clarkstown.

Swim for Hospice is dedicated to the memory of Marc Holland and is hosted by the Town of Clarkstown. The swim is sponsored by Swim Across America and the event supports United Hospice’s mission and the fight against cancer. The Swim Across America event directly benefits the Children’s Hospital of NY – Presbyterian Medical Center, Research Labs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and UHR.

Swimmers of all ages are welcome to participate. There is a $500 fundraising requirement for adult swimmers and a $250 fundraising requirement for high school students and younger. Swimmers may swim a half mile, 1 mile or form relay teams. Teams of friends and family may join as a group in honor or in memory of a loved one, or just for fun. Each swimmer receives a t-shirt and a towel. Showers and changing facilities are available at Germonds Pool and light refreshments will be provided.

Check-in starts at 7 a.m. and swimmers are taken on a first come, first served basis.
